Smoking.

Heyy lovelys,  im gonna blog about 'smoking' today. As all of you should know,  smoking isn't good for your health. Everybody knows that but why do people still smoke? Every pack of cigarettes has a warning stating that smoking can be harmful to your health. They're not stupid, they understand this. They feel the harmful effects every time that they cough or have a sore throat, but this has not stopped them from smoking. Why? Because the reasons for smoking are mostly psychological. People are seduced to try cigarettes by the glamorization of smoking in the movies and in advertisements. People get addicted to it, and it's hard to quit smoking once they have started.
Some reasons why people start smoking:
  • On a dare to show that you are not timid or afraid.
  • To fit with the crowd (e.g. "All my friends do it")
  • To appear sophisticated or cool ( But the fact is, smoking isn't cool. (: )
  • To be grown-up
  • To assert your independence
  • As a sign of protest, rebellion, or to defy authority
  • Free samples from friends or even strangers
  • Influences from people you respect and admire
    • Parents or relatives smoked
    • Images of famous actors, movie stars, or role models
Some find it cool, some was dared, some was influenced, some was given from friends/strangers lots lots of different reason but those for the top few. A lot of school student smoke, they buy from those people/shop that sell illegal cigarettes which are way more bad for your health it contains over 4,000 chemicals, at least 60 of which are known to cause cancer.
Things to look out for illegal cigarettes include one or more of the following:
  • Foreign brand names
  • Cheaper prices - less than $5 for a pack of 20
  • Foreign health warnings
  • No picture health warnings
  • Unusual taste
  • Unusual packaging - spelling mistakes, wrong logos
A normal legal cigarette is already very harmful, illegal would be worse. This is what a normal cigarette contain:
A normal cigarette smoke contains over 4,000 chemicals, including 43 known cancer-causing (carcinogenic) compounds and 400 other toxins. These cigarette ingredients include nicotine, tar, and carbon monoxide, as
well as formaldehyde, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, arsenic, and DDT.
Nicotine is highly addictive. Smoke containing nicotine is inhaled into the lungs, and the nicotine reaches your brain in just six seconds.
While not as serious as heroin addiction, addiction to nicotine also poses very serious health risks in the long run.
Nicotine is highly addictive. Smoke containing nicotine is inhaled into the lungs, and the nicotine reaches your brain in just six seconds.
Nicotine in small doses acts as a stimulant to the brain. In large doses, it's a depressant, inhibiting the flow of signals between nerve cells. In even larger doses, it's a lethal poison, affecting the heart, blood vessels, and hormones. Nicotine in the bloodstream acts to make the smoker feel calm.

As a cigarette is smoked, the amount of tar inhaled into the lungs increases, and the last puff contains more than twice as much tar as the first puff. Carbon monoxide makes it harder for red blood cells to carry oxygen throughout the body. Tar is a mixture of substances that together form a sticky mass in the lungs.
Most of the chemicals inhaled in cigarette smoke stay in the lungs. The more you inhale, the better it feels—and the greater the damage to your lungs.
And moreover buying cigarette is very expensive, what for wasting on money on things that would harm your self? Make your country as a 'smoke-free' country by simply not smoking! Rememeber, 1 less cigarette makes a big difference! :) Okay i will write until here. Thanks for reading <3
